September 7 in the Harry Potter World
- Cho Chang’s mother is born.
- 1995: The Daily Prophet reports that a tip-off has informed them that Sirius Black is hiding in London and that Sturgis Podmore has been imprisoned in Azkaban for six months, for trying to break in a door at the Ministry of Magic.
- Harry Potter goes to the Owlery to send a letter to Sirius Black about Umbridge, and meets Cho Chang. The two are accosted by Argus Filch, who suspects Harry of sending out an order for Dungbombs.
- 1996: Harry Potter has his first lesson with Albus Dumbledore about Tom Riddle’s past. They visit Bob Ogden’s memory of visiting the House of Gaunt.
